Zayeda Khatun was born on January 10, 1962 in Kanaya area of Gazipur City Corporation. Her husband Mizanur Rahman died in 2018. She is a mother of two sons and a daughter.

In the results of 480 centers, Azmat Ulla Khan (Navy) got 2 lakh 22 thousand 737 votes and Jada Khatun (Table Clock) got 2 lakh 38 thousand 934 votes. Zayeda Khatun won with 16 thousand 197 votes.

Zayeda Khatun is the new mayor of Gazipur

Independent candidate Zayeda Khatun became the Nagarmata of Gazipur after defeating the boat candidate Azmat Ulla Khan in the Gazipur City Corporation elections. In the results of 480 centers, Azmat Ulla Khan (Boat) got 222,737 votes and Zayda Khatun (Table Clock) got 238,934 votes. Zayeda Khatun won with 16 thousand 197 votes. Gazi Ataur Rahman, candidate of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, who came third, got 45 thousand 352 votes.

Returning Officer Faridul Islam started to announce the results of Gasik election on Thursday (May 25) evening after taking the votes. The returning officer announced the total results of all the centers on Friday (May 26) at 1.30 pm.

A total of 333 candidates are contesting in the elections, including 8 candidates for the post of mayor, 79 candidates for the post of councilor of reserved seat and 246 for the post of councilor of general seat.
