Champa is a Bangladeshi popular film actress. She is the sister of famous actresses Bobita and Shuchanda. The three are sisters are the actress of the Dhallywood film industry. Champa was a powerful actress in the film for the central role during the 1990s and won the National Film Award for her terrific performance in the media arena.

Champa Early Life:

Gulshan Ara Akter Champa was born on January 5, 1950, in Jessore, Bangladesh to Nizamuddin Ataub and B. J. Ara. Her father was a government employee where mother was a doctor. The family roamed in different corners of the country due to Champa’s father’s job.  She was born into an educated and film-loving family. Champa was born with five siblings her three are well established in life and the rest of the two sister film actresses like herself.

Champa Career:

Champa kicked off the journey in the media arena with modeling, then started acting in television drama and got popular throughout the country. She made her film debut with the movie ‘Tin Konna’ in 1986 directed by Shibli Sadik. In the movie, she portrayed the character of a police inspector and created a fierce stir in the Dhallywood box office that was time. Following the year, she acted in the movie ‘Nishpap for’ first time with Alamgir.

Then Champa starred in the Indo- Bangladesh joint production movie ‘Padma Nadir Majhi’, the movie conveys the National Film Award for the actress in the Best Actress Category. In 2004, she starred in the blockbuster movie ‘Shasti’ with co-artist Ilias Kanchan, Riaz, and Purnima. Champa showed off her terrific performance in the movie ‘Chandragrohon’ with Riaz, Sohana Saba, and Shahiduzzaman Selim. The movie was successful and won the National Film Award. In recent, she signed with a movie ‘Hridoy Choa Valobasha’ with Zayed Khan, Pori Moni, and Shirin Shila.

Personal Life:

In 1982, Champa married a businessman Islam Khan. The couple has a daughter named Esha. Popular actor Omar Sunny is her nephew, Moushumi’s niece in law and Riaz’s cousin.
