Kumud Baruah popularly known as Babu is an Indian Playback Singer who mainly sings Assamese songs. Babu became popular for his single music album Rowd, Lakhimi and make a way to the career of his music journey. His debut album was Geet, sung with Bhagawan Pathak & Shanta Uzir. Babu was born on 1 December 1976 and the age is 45 years as of 2021.

Early Life & Education

Babu Baruah hails from Azara, Guwahati. He did schooling from Azara MV School and Pursued his graduation in Bsc from Pandu College, Guwahati.

Career & Journey to Music Industry

Babu started his career as a singer in the early stage in Assam where music was not easy to listen. His first debut album was named, “Geet” sung with Bhagawan Pathak and Shanta Uzir, was the mainstream waves with his next solo album ‘Rowd’,  Thereafter, a majority of his songs from his successive albums like ‘Shanti’, ‘Babur Biya’, ‘Dhuli’, ‘Phool’, ‘Ajolitora’, among others, became major hits.

The entry into the music industry of Babu Baruah was accidental. He was a  great fan of Popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg. Once his friends requested to sing for an open Bihu function at Azara, Babu was agreed to sing. From that day Babu got confidence in his singing that he would make a career as a singer. Later, he took a total of Rs.15 Lakh from his friends and Banks to release his turning point music CD- ROD (The Sunshine). Later Babu gave many his music album like Lakhimi, Rohedoi, Babur Thikona, Pedal Mari Mari, etc.

Philanthropy

Babu is also running a charity organization under the name of “Its possible save a life-A Babu Baruah Initiative” where he is donating live-saving drugs free of cost to the society and financial aid to the needful. Babu Baruah is actively supporting various events and trust dedicated to serving Mankind.

Every year Babu Baruah has extended his helping hands to the various situation that created an emergency rescue. His Helping hands can be described by his active participation in donating relief to the flood-affected areas, plantation of trees for saving the mother nature, delivering food and clothes to the poor, providing financial aid to the poor and needy students to boost up their career.
His dedication and love for humanity are truly appreciable. The singer is helping by delivering the needy people with some life-saving drugs which they are consuming in their day to day life. There might be a certain situation in which the people cannot purchase those medications due to lack of availability in their area or due to lack of financial support.
Moreover, under this campaign “It’s possible save a life“, he has recently donated a sum of Rs 50,000 to a young girl who is a victim of cancer and also to a child who required a kidney transplant. He has also committed to bear the educational expenses of a student who has shined in the recently declared board examination.
