The actress has two brothers named Abhishek Awasthy and, Rajat Awasthy. Pankhuri did her schooling at Bluebells School International, New Delhi, India, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in English from Hindu College, University of Delhi, New Delhi.

Pankhuri Awasthy made her acting debut appearing in the romance anthology series ‘Yeh Hai Aashiqui’ in 2014 on Bindass which she played the role of Saima. The actress is well-known for the &TV drama series ‘Razia Sultan’ in 2015 which she portrayed the lead role of Razia Sultan.
In the following year, She appeared in the mythological epic television series ‘Suryaputra Karna’ as Draupadi. In 2018, the actress acted in the horror anthology series ‘Kaun Hai?’ in the role of Pauloma. One year later, Pankhuri played the recurring role of Vedika in the Star Plus soap opera ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.’
