Debut
Anupam’s music career started at home. His mother, Madhurita, is a seasoned singer. She was his first guru ( Teacher) in music. He also got his basic tabla ( musical instrument) lesson for three years from her.
When he was at school, he was famous for writing poems and songs in Bengali. At a very early age, his choice of words and the emotion behind it was commendable.
Anupam Roy was very focused on his training. It is why not only in music but also excelled in academic studies. He was the gold medalist of his batch in Jadavpur University ( 2004 year batch). After completing graduation with an envious CGPA, he joined ‘Texas Instruments India’ as an analog circuit engineer. Currently, he is residing in Bangalore to pursue his engineering career.
Anupam Roy was successful by all means. But the musician in him was restless. How can a singer feel satisfied with a 5-9 job? Anupam also soon realized this is not his place. So quitting his job, he went for a full-time musical career.
His further journey proves it was the right decision. Both the music industry and Anupam got some unforgettable moments.

Musical career
Anupam Roy got his big break in the movie ‘ Autograph ‘ directed by Srijit Mukherjee. The song Beche Thakar Gaan was initially written and composed by him and sung by Rupom. But Anupam sang the newer version as “Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao.”The movie, as well as the music album, was a significant hit.
In the following years, he worked as vocalist, lyricist, and music director in movies like Baishe Srabon, Hemlock Society, etc. Ekhane Onek Raat, Amar Mawte, and songs like this kept adding features to his hat.

As a result, Anupam recorded his first ‘ Coke Studio’ episode in 2015. It is a very prestigious offer for singers and composers. He presented a famous Lalon Shangit ‘ Moner Manush ‘ with an additional Hindi verse, written and composed.
These were some of his vocal samples. After this, he started music direction, composition, and writing lyrics on his own for several ventures.
