Tanjim Ahmad Sohel Taj is a popular and famous Bangladeshi politician who is the former state minister of Home Affairs. Later he resigned from politics and minister as well. Sohel Taj is the youngest son of the first prime minister of Bangladesh Tajuddin Ahmad. Taj draws the huge attention of media when began Facebook live to rescue his nephew who was abducted by miscreants.

Sohel Taj Early Life:

Tanjim Ahmad Sohel Taj was born on January 5, 1970, in Kapasia, Gazipur, East Pakistan now Bangladesh. His father Tajuddin Ahmad was the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh and his mother Syeda Zohra Tajuddin was an Awami League politician.

She served the party as its president from 1980 to 1981. He has three elder sisters named Sharmin Ahmad Reepi, Simeen Hussain Rimi (Parliament Member), Mahjabin Ahmad Mim.

Sohel Taj began schooling at St Francis Xavier’s Green Herald International School in Dhaka. Then he completed A Level from the British council. He enrolled at the American University in Bulgaria and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Later he completed a master’s from Gordon University in the United States in 2008.

Sohel Taj Career:

In 2001, Sohel Taj was elected a member of Parliament for the first time from the constituency Gazipur-4. In the 2008 general election, he was re-elected from the same constituency and he was appointed as the state minister of home affairs on January 6, 2009.

Only four months later, he resigned from the position of state minister and from the Parliament of Bangladesh as well. However, his sister Simeen Hussain Rimi was elected member of Parliament to replace him in the same constituency.

Sohel Taj is a married man. He has a son named Turaj Ahmed who is a Barrister.
