Rumen Farhana Early Life & Education:
Rumen Farhana was born on August 19, 1981, in Islampur in Vijayanagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria District, Bangladesh. Her father Oli Ahad was a great politician and her mother Rashida Begum is a housewife. She studied at Holy Cross School and completed SSC.
Then she completed Higher Secondary from Viqarunnisa Noon School and College. She received a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of London. Finally, Rumen achieved a Barrister degree at Lincoln’s Inn of the United Kingdom.
Rumeen Farhana Career:
Barrister Rumeen Farhana kicked off the political journey as the central international affairs secretary of BNP. She also works as an advocate in the High Court of Bangladesh. Rumen represented the Bangladesh National Party in the Eleventh Jatiya Sangsad as the only female member of parliament.
She is a member of the Dhaka Lawyers Association and is known as a writer and journalist. In addition, Rumen is a publisher and editor of Daily Ittefaq.
A Letter Demanding Plot:
Barrister Rumeen Farhana wrote a letter on August 03, 2019, to Public Works and Housing Minister SM Rezaul Karim demanding 10 Katha plots in Purbachal, Dhaka. Her plot demanding letter went viral on social media and raises a question of how she demands a plot as an opposition party leader.
