American actress Peri Gilpin has an estimated net worth of $15 million. She is born Peri Kay Oldham on May 27, 1961, in Waco, Texas. She is the daughter of Jim O’Brien, the late Philadelphia weatherman and radio disc jockey, who was killed on September 25, 1983, during a parachute dive while saving the life of another skydiver. She grew up in Dallas where her family encouraged her acting abilities. She attended Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas. She studied at the Dallas Theater Center and pursued acting at the University of Texas in Austin. She also studied acting at the British-American Academy in London. She worked as a makeup artist before she got her acting break when she met Blythe Danner who became her main supporter. She also worked as a radio show sound engineer. The moniker Peri Gilpin came from her stepfather’s surname and she began using it when she became a professional actress. She is also named after the Disney cartoon character Perri the squirrel.

Peri Gilpin appeared as a guest in popular situation comedies like Cheers (1982), Designing Women (1986), and Wings (1990) where she worked with the late producer Roz Doyle, the namesake of her character in the U.S. television series Frasier from 1993 to 2004. Together with the main casts of the series, she won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2000. She was the only one of the five main casts who was never nominated for an Emmy. She has also received a Gracie Award – Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Drama Series for her performance in the ABC Family drama Make It or Break It.

Gilpin owns a production company called Bristol Cities with Frasier co-star Jane Leeves and Jane’s sister Kathryn. She is also the godmother to Leeves’ daughter Isabella Kathryn Coben. She has two older siblings, actors Marc Gilpin and April Gilpin. She is married to the artist Christian Vincent in July 31, 1999. Their twin, Stella, and Ava, were born through surrogacy.
