Lurinjyoti Gogoi (born:28 Dec 1977) is a politician from Assam, former student leader of AASU (All Assam Students) and the first president of AJP (Assam Jatiya Parishad) which is a state political party in Assam, India. Lurinjyoti Gogoi started his political career as a General Secretary of All AASU and played a key role against the anti CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 ) protest in Assam.

Early Life & Education
Lurinjyoti Gogoi was born in a small village named, “Morankari Gaon” under the Grampuli Gram panchayat in the Tinsukia district of Assam. Lurin is the only son of Probin Gogoi and Dulu Gogoi.
He studied in the Laipuli No.1 Primary School in his village. He went to Senairam Higher Secondary School, Tinsukia. Lurinjyoti was graduated from Tinsukia College in mathematics and completed his post-graduation from Dibrugarh University. Currently, he is doing a PhD degree in Mathematics from Dibrugarh University.
Career
Lurinjyoti Gogoi got involved in AASU (All Assam Students’ Union) when he was studying bachelor’s degree from Tinsukia College. Later he became a General Secretary at AASU in 2015 under the presidentship of Dipankar Nath.
Gogoi was a key face of protesters to the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019, who emerged for his speech at the anti CAA events and rally. He said, “We need to protect ourselves, our identity, our land, our community, and only a Jaatiyotabadi (Assamese Nationalist) party can do that.”
Later he exits AASU with teary eyes on 21 November 2020. Lurin joined the newly formed Assamese Nationalist political party, AJP on 16th December 2020 as the founding president.
Lurinjyoti in Assam Assembly Election 2021
Gogoi contested from Duliajan and Naharkatia constituencies, both of which went polls on 27 March 2021 in the first phase of the Assam Assembly Elections. Lurinjyoti lost both of the seats to Terash Gowalla of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Duliajan constituency and Taranga Gogoi, BJP candidate from Naharkatia assembly result declared on May 2, 2021.
Personal Life
Lurinjyoti Gogoi lives with his parents in Tinsukia.
On 31st March 2021, Wednesday, his mother Dulu Gogoi passed away in a private hospital at Dibrugarh. His mother suffered a stroke and was admitted to Sanjeevani Hospital and was under ventilator support.
