Jason Hanson is a retired football placekicker who has an estimated net worth of $15 million. He was born in Spokane, Washington, and graduated from Mead High School in 1988, where he received varsity letters in football, basketball, and soccer. He then attended Washington State University in Pullman, where he as a freshman walk-on and made an impact. He played alongside quarterback Drew Bledsoe, who joined the team in 1990.

Hanson was drafted by the Detroit Lions during the second round of the 1992 NFL Draft as the 56th overall pick. He has served as the captain of the team since 2007. Throughout his entire football career, he only played with the Lions until he retired in 2013. Prior to this, he was the oldest active player in the NFL, the last player to have played for the same team he played for prior to the advent of free agency, and the last active player to play at Milwaukee County Stadium. In the fall of the same year, he was inducted into the Ring of Honorat Ford Field for his success and dedication to Detroit Lions football.
