Faria Abdullah was born on 28th May 1998 to Sanjay Abdullah and Kausar Sultana in Hyderabad, Telangana. She has a younger sister, Inaya Abdullah.

She completed her schooling in Meridian Bhavna’s School, Hyderabad. She perused masters in Mass Communication from Loyola Academy, Secunderabad. Faria has been a part of many art forms like dance, theatres and painting. She also loves travelling and exploring new places.

Faria’s entire family was inclined towards art, especially dance and acting. Faria shared that her mom used to dance while carrying her because she has also been interested in dance since childhood. As her parents were really supportive and valued her talent, they got her an admission at Shamiak Davar’s dance classes and other workshops. Although Faria loves free-style dancing, she has also learnt Kathak briefly, hip hop, house, whacking, belly dancing and dance hall styles. She mentioned that she was inspired by one of the belly dancer contestants of India’s Got Talent, Meher Malik.

While studying at college, she also started her acting career at the theatre named Samahaara. She did theatre for almost five to six years with Dramanon, Nishumbita Group, Kisago Theatre and Film Production before her first web series named “Nakshatra”. She has performed more than thirty times on various other platforms including Vizag and Udaipur.

Nag Ashwin, the producer of Jathi Ratnalu and Faria met incidentally at Faria’s college fest where Nag was invited as a chief guest, and she happened to tell Nag that she was an actor. And then the subsequent incidents within a few months lead to her debut movie playing the role of Chitti opposite Naveen Polishetty. Faria shares that her favourite thing while shooting Jathi Ratnalu was being on the sets. She was new to the luxury of the sets and the excitement of being the heroine of an actual movie. As Faria belonged to a Muslim family who spoke only Hindi and Urdu, she learned Telugu a few years ago and dubbed it for the film.

Faria believes that all art forms are integrated and require an equal amount of dedication, whether they are theatres or films. But she shares that the preferences also depend on her schedule and scripts. Faria believes that there is an opportunity to improvise in theatre when you perform the same play again, which is not possible in the cinema. After the success of Jathi Ratnalu, Faria says that she doesn’t want to limit her vision and is open to receiving all different kinds of interesting scripts with different aspects. Although she hasn’t signed any film yet, but she is willing to be a part of a production film that blows her mind. She is also coming up with an idea of producing her own film, for which she has been trying to write and direct. Faria is also interested in doing creative collaborations like events, PR, Sangeets, Photography and Flash Mobs and wishes to continue doing all of them.
