Abdur Razzak is a Bangladeshi popular and well-known actor. He is the paramount figure in the Dhallywood film industry. Abdur Razzak has made history in the industry and is best known as Nayak Raj Razzak throughout the country. He won the Independent Day Award for his outstanding contribution to the film industry.

Razzak Early Life:

Abdur Razzak was born on January 23, 1943, in Naktala, South Kolkata to Akbar Hossain and Nisarunnesa. His father died in his early childhood of life. Eight months later his father died, mother died. Razzak grew up in Kolkata, India, and studied here. He got a chance for acting in a stage drama when he was in class seven by his game teacher at Khanpur High School, Kolkata.

Razzak was chosen for the central character of the drama and eventually engaged in the acting arena. He has five children among them two are the hero in the Dhallywood film industry- Bappa Raj and Sharmat. Razzak’s son Bappa Raj is one of the popular actors in the film industry of Bangladesh, he is best known around the country for his melancholic role in the movie.

In 1964, Razzak came to Dhaka pursuing a build-up career in the film industry along with his wife and child Bappa. He was totally homeless in Dhaka city and he met with the director Abdul Jabbar Khan who assured him of giving him a chance. Then he resided in the Komolapur area at only eighty taka monthly rent in a rental home. Although he managed a residence there was no way of earning money and strived hard for earning money by acting in film.

Razzak Career:

Abdur Razzak made his debut in the film industry with the movie ‘Ratan Lal Bengali’ in Kolkata. In 1964, the Hindu-Muslim riot forced Razzak’s family to migrate to Dhaka, East Pakistan (then). In Dhaka, he started acting in a television serial ‘Ghoroa’ got some positive reviews and came to the close of the audience. However, he was so focused on being a film hero. Razzak got a chance to work as an assistant director with filmmaker Abdul Jabbar Khan.

Salahuddin production’s movie ‘Tero Nombor Feku Ostagar Lane’ conveys a breakthrough in his acting career. Razzak showed off his terrific performance in the movie ‘Behula’ in 1966. He acted in more than three hundred Bengali and Urdu movies and directed sixteen movies. Razzak acted with lots of prominent artists including Ilias Kanchan, Shuchanda, Kabori, Shabana, and Bobita.

He starred in maximum popular movies as a Bangladeshi actor including ‘Neel Akasher Nichey’, ‘Osru Diye Likha’, ‘Maynamati’, ‘Moner Moto Bou’, ‘Swaralipi’, ‘Jibon Theke Neya, and ‘Obujh Mon’. Razzak made a terrific performance in the movie ‘Baba Keno Chakar with son Bappa Raj that movie created a fierce stir enough in the box office that was equally popular in Dhaka and Kolkata.

Personal Life:

Nayak Raj Razzak married Khairunnesa Laxmi. The couple has three sons Bapparaj, Bappi, and Samrat and two daughters Nasrin Pasha Shampa and Afrin Alam Moyna. He established a luxurious commercial building Rajlaxmi Complex as his wife named.

Death:

Nayak Raj Razzak, the leading film actor of Bangladesh died of a heart attack on August 21, 2017, in the United Hospital Dhaka. At 5:20 PM, he was admitted to the hospital being heart attacked, hospital’s authorities failed to make all efforts and he died at 6:13 PM.
